First Annual BIG search for LITTLE treasures Geocaching event at the Rotary Park, August 21st, 2010 from 10am until 4pm (Adanac ski hill, off Beatrice Cres) .This event is for new and experienced cachers who like to come out and share there stories. I am hoping that cachers will bring the new and the curious out to learn about this fantastic hobby.
Cost for individuals is $20. Teams of four can enter for $60.00. This will cover the cost of the facility, bbq lunch with drink, prizes, as well as the scavenger hunt and cacher bingo. There are current caches available in the area and there will be new ones set out for the event .
Here's how it works.
Using your GPS unit, collect 10 hidden playing cards sealed in envelopes on selected trails. Top card hands will win prizes. However be prepared for unexpected surprises and adventures. There will be a track able trading area.
A lunch will be served we will provide two food coupons and one drink coupon. If you need more coupons, you can purchase them for a fee. Hope to see you there! Prizes will be awarded between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m.
We plan to have many summer activities in which you can participate: kids activities, cacher activities, geocacher bingo games, scavenger hunt for those who don’t want to geocache There is fun for all. Of course, there is always time for chatting, asking questions, discussion of caches and techniques and just enjoying the company of others! Please include in your “will attend” how many adults and how many children will be attending with you.
Itinerary for the day
10 am –noon morning event caches
12-1 p.m lunch and chance to talk caching track able trading
1-3 p.m afternoon caches (bonus round)
3-4 p.m. prizes
Don’t forget to bring your GPS! You will need it for some of the activities during the event.
