Geocache Description:

A cache with a view of the Avon River.

This cache takes you to a brand new (May 2010) walking track in the township of Stratford. Originally this track was to join the Gippsland Railtrail to the Knob Reserve - but due to differing political views between Government Departments and Community Groups the Track ends here!

The best way to find this cache is to park your vehicle at the Apex Park just off the highway - there are other caches in the area to try before the walk along the track to the east to this spot. If you're in a hurry then park nearby and make a quick dash!

The cache is a 1.2 litre sistema container containing swaps, cache note, pen and log book. Please be careful retrieving the cache and replacing it so it is not found by muggles. Also, as this is a walking track - be careful of approaching muggles on foot - a lookout may be required.

If walking back to the Apex park keep an eye on the river below - you may be able to spot some old pylons on the northern bank (closest to track) which are the remains of sheds that were in use when steam boats used the Avon.

Enjoy this area and give the other caches in the vicinity a go.
