Da sa povedat, ze kazde mesto ma svoj symbol - nieco dominantne, nieco co ked sa povie, tak si hned prestavite aj to mesto. Casto su takymi dominantami hrady, ved povazte: Bratislavsky hrad, Zvolensky hrad, Trenciansky hrad, Nitriansky hrad, Kremnicky hrad, Levocsky hrad, Starolubovniansky hrad.. V inych pripadoch su to zas ine, zvacsa historicke, budovy: kosicky kostol svatej Alzbety, popradsky kostol sv. Egidia, presovske divadlo Jonasa Zaborskeho, skalicka rotunda, kastiel v Humennom, vaznica v Leopoldove, ilavska vaznica, michalovsky pivovar(oprava ten uz nie je nechal som sa uniest), topolciansky pivovar. Ak sa nachadzate v nedalekom okoli tejto kesky, nachadzate sa v meste, ktore ma za symbol sochu. No prekvapivo to nie je ziadna znama, slavna, svata ci aka osoba. Dokonca sa da povedat, ze sa ani nevie kto na tej soche je, a ci niekedy aj skutocne zil. Zaujimave na nej je ale nieco ine. Ten clovek lame barlu.

Obec Piestany sa stala 21.oktobra 1945 mestom a vtedy bol jej povodny symbol (svaty Stefan) zmeneny a stal sa nim barlolamac.

The village Pieštany became a town on 21th October 1945 and its original symbol (St. Stefan) was changed – the Crutchbreaker became the new symbol.

Man kann sagen, dass jede Stadt hat sein eigenes Symbol – etwas dominantes, etwas was diese Stadt charakterisiert. Am meistens sind das die Burgen, zum Beispiel: Bratislava’s Burg, Zvolen’s Burg, Trencin’s Burg. Oft sind es auch historische Sehenswurdigkeiten oder alte Kirchen: Der Dom der heilige Elizabeth in Kosice, Die Kirche von heiligem Egidius, Jonas Zaborsky Theater in Presov, die Rotunde in Skalica, das Chateau in Skalica, Gefängnis in Leopoldov, usw.
