Geocache Description:

Well, now it kinda is a micro in the woods...

Almost named I Hate Micros. Houston, founded in 1836, is the 4th most populous city in the nation. Harris County has a land area of 1,728 square miles with almost 2000 people per square mile. We’ve seen some really great urban caches and some that we thought weren’t so great. This cache is designed to truly give you a chance to enjoy a wonderful area. Be sure to check out the nearby geocache, Bluelight (GC24AZD) as there is some great history in the area to discover.

Now for the cache itself, of course, it makes perfect sense to put a small cache out in the middle of nowhere for the taking! For your journey, we strongly suggest you plan your attack wisely! You will be in the heart of 2.25 square miles of wilderness along with all the critters that call it home. There is no good place to park and we certainly do not suggest trying to do this at night. Bring some water as we head into the warmer months and plan your time accordingly. The area is subject to severe flooding so please take that into consideration after heavy rainfall.

Are you ready to challenge yourself? Want to get away from it all? Plan carefully, bring your best woodcraft, and enjoy the walk. There’s $4 in it for the FTF, woohoo!

No spoilers please.

Mega congrats to OneStepCloser on the FTF and a nice personal note as well.

Unfortunately it seems the original hide kind of came undone. Not surprising given the heavy flooding the area experiences. Originally it was a fake branch and I just don’t have the time to recreate it in all its glory.

However: as the original cache name states, fools indeed rush in. Part of the original cache was a “trap” placed on the opposite side of the creek for those who tried to take the easier route. I’m not sure it ever really caught anyone but It sure came in handy for being able to reinvent the cache and keep this wonderful spot open to ALL geocachers and not just premium members.

So, the spot is still a fantastic hike. Depending on your approach, getting wet is up to you. Enjoy the hike. Enjoy the hunt. Perhaps you’ll share this with your friends. Be safe and have fun!

Just a log so bring a pencil.
