Geocache Description:

One of 10 caches placed on the island of Ulva to commemorate 10 years of geocaching.

The island of Ulva is privately owned, and reached by a ferry from mainland Mull (foot passengers and mountain bikes only), Monday-Friday 9am-5pm (on demand), also operates on Sundays from 1 June to end of August. Closed all day Saturday.

Gometra bridge links the island of Ulva with the adjacent island of Gometra, separated from Ulva by a narrow cleft, spanned by a single arch bridge which continues the rough track from Ulva ferry to Gometra House and the west coast anchorage, Acairseid Mhòr. This tiny island was sometime home to Hugh Ruttledge, renowned Himalayan explorer and leader of the unsuccessful 1933 expedition to Everest.

The cache, quite a romp from the ferry, will be found secreted beside the track before you reach the bridge. This is a splendid opportunity to cross the bridge and 'bag' another Scottish island.
