- Beskydske divadlo jako dominantni kulturni zarizeni mesta Noveho
Jicina ma jiz svou vice nez stoletou tradici. Budova byla postavena
novojicinskymi nemeckymi spolky podle navrhu videnskeho architekta
Otto Thienemanna v roce 1886. Tentyz architekt se stal autorem
dalsich vyznamnych staveb te doby v Novem Jicine – okresniho
soudu a okresniho hejtmanstvi. Budova Nemeckeho spolkoveho domu se
stala centrem nemeckeho kulturniho a spolecenskeho zivota mesta a
okoli. Konaly se zde plesy, vystavy, verejna setkani obcanu,
divadelni a koncertni vystoupeni. Po skonceni druhe svetove valky
do budovy divadla presidlilo z nedalekych Hranic na Morave
„Druzstvo Beskydske divadlo“, ktere zde od 1. zari 1947
zacalo provozovat pravidelnou divadelni cinnost. V cervnu 1963 bylo
v ramci celostatni kampane ruseni oblastnich divadel zruseno rovnez
Beskydske divadlo. Tehdejsi politicke vedeni mesta a okresu Novy
Jicin neuhajilo jeho existenci a na dlouho tak ovlivnilo kulturni
zivot ve meste. Pocatkem 80. let jiz byla rekonstrukce budovy
nezbytna. Byla zahajena v roce 1984. Rekonstrukce nese priznacne
stopy doby sveho vzniku: k historicke budove v temer puvodni podobe
je pristavena tvarove velmi kontrastni moderni pristavba,
historicky plast budovy skryva moderni interiery, ve velkem sale
bychom hledali spise kino. Beskydske divadlo od 1. 1. 1994 az
doposud je zrizovano Mestem Novy Jicin. S poctem 16 stalych
zamestnancu zajistuje kazdorocne asi 130 divadelnich predstaveni a
dalsich kulturnich akci s navstevnosti vice než 30 tisic
divaku. Pravidelne zajistuje abonentni divadelni cykly, od 2 cyklu
se 150 abonenty v roce 1992 az po 8 cyklu s 1500 abonenty v sezone
2003 – 2004.

- Beskydske Theatre, as a dominant cultural establishment of Novy
Jicin town, has more than a hundred year tradition. The building
was built by Novy Jicin-German association, according to the design
of a viennese architect Otto Thienemann in 1886. He also became an
author of many other important buildings in Novy Jicin – E.g.
the county court. The building of the German association house has
become the centre of the German cultural and social life of the
town and its suroundings. Balls, exhibitions, public meetings of
citizens, theatre and musical performances had taken place here.
After the Second World War, since 1st September 1947, the
‚Society of Beskydske Theater‘ moved into the building
from nearby Hranice na Morave and started to carry out regular
theatre activities. In June 1963, the theatre was closed down due
to the national campaign of ‚closing down of district
theatres‘. The political leaders of the town and the county
Novy Jicin had then not been able to defend its existence and
therefore it had had a negative impact on the cultural life of the
town. At the beginning of 1980s the building of the theatre was in
need of reconstruction which has started in 1984. Reconstruction
carried significant signs of what the building originally looked
like; there has been a contrast modern additional building
constructed next to the theater looking very similar to its
original form, the historical ‚cloak‘ of the building
covers modern interiors which means one would probably be looking
for a cinema inside instead of theatre. The Beskydske Theatre has
been managed by the Novy Jicin town since 1st January 1994 until
present. There are 16 employees that are in charge of organising
around 130 theater and other cultural performances with more than
30,000 visitors every year. The theatre organises regularly abonent
theatre cycles: from 2 cycles with 150 abonents in 1992 to 8 cycles
with 1,500 abonents in the 2003-2004 seaseon.
