Geocache Description:

One of a series of caches placed on Ulva to celebrate 10 years of geocaching.

Ulva is a private island; access is by ferry from mainland Mull (foot passengers, mountain bikes only), Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm; also runs Sunday from 1 June to end of August, but closed all day Saturday throughout the year.

Ulva was visited by Johnson and Boswell in 1773, but they didn’t stay very long, and found MacQuarrie’s home to be rather ‘mean’. In 1841, the population of the island was 570; today it is 12 (of whom two attend school off the island).

The cache is located at the end of an old track used by the minister - hence the name.
