One of a series of 10 caches placed on the island of Ulva to celebrate ten years of geocaching. You reach the island by a ferry from mainland Mull. Ferry sailings are Monday-Friday 9am-5pm (0900-1700) on demand. Also runs Sundays from 1 June to end of August. Ferry closed all day Saturday. Adverse weather conditions can also prevent the ferry from running.
Ulva is a privately owned island with a thriving community of fewer than 20 people who are involved variously in sheep and cattle farming, fish farming, oyster farming and tourism. There are no tarmac roads on Ulva, and no cars, but beware of quad bikes used by residents. The cache is a conventional plastic box, capable of taking geocoins and small TBs. It is placed near the old estate farm, as part of the island's Farm Circular walk. A leaflet showing all the island walks is available at The Boathouse.
