St.
Mary
Another contribution to this series, started by sadexploration,
is St. Mary, Shackleford
The large Grade II listed church at the Norney crossroads on the
Godalming to Peper Harow road is considered to be among the best
designed churches in Surrey. St Mary's was designed by the renowned
architect Sir George Gilbert Scott in 1865. Built from local
Bargate stone it is a wonderful example of Victorian interpretation
of the Early English style. St Mary's is the Parish Church for
Shackleford and Peper Harow.
A straight forward micro. The cache is not within the churchyard
so do not try and look for it there.
The cache has a log book but no pen so please bring one with
you.
If anybody would like
to expand this series please do, I would just ask that you could
let sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church
numbers and names to avoid duplication
