The Sendai city, it is often called "City of trees - Sendai".
You'll be seen one of picture's scene that the double row of beautiful zelkova trees street with sculptures because that scenic picture often use to image of "City of trees - Sendai".
This promenade is host to festivals throughout the year.
The Aoba Festival in May, featuring traditional dancers and drummers as well as samurai in full regalia.
The Tanabata Parade in August.
The Sendai Street Jazz Festival in September, which is not limited to Jazz.
And the Starlight Pageant in December, when the zelkovas are illuminated with thousands of sparkling lights.

仙台市は、「杜の都 - 仙台」とよく呼ばれますが、仙台を象徴する定禅寺通の並木道は仙台の写真で必ずといって良いほど出てくる風景です。
イベントで使用される事も多く、5月の青葉まつり、8月の七夕祭り、9月の定禅寺ストリートジャズフェスティバル、12月のSENDAI光のページェントなどが催されます。
