The cache is a small Lock N Lock located on the Traverse Trail.
Thorne Head Preserve is a 96 acre preserve at the confluence of Whiskeag Creek and the Kennebec River, just below Merrymeeting Bay. The preserve, which is managed by the Kennebec Esturary Land Trust, has an extensive trail system which is open free of charge to the public from dawn to dusk. Dogs are welcome if leashed or well mannered. Help us protect what you have come to enjoy. Natural areas are delicate; foot traffic only, no camping, fires, or motorized vehicles. Please respect boundary signs. Enjoy your visit!
