The history
The Grey Havens were built by the Elves at the beginning of the Second Age. Their purpose was to leave Middle-earth into the West, for Valinor.
After the defeat of Sauron and the crowning of King Elessar at the end of the Third Age, Gandalf, Elrond, and Galadriel left Middle-earth for Valinor from the Grey Havens. Bilbo and Frodo Baggins went also on this journey, as they had both been a Ring-bearer. Years later, it is said that Samwise Gamgee also sailed West from the Grey Havens because he too had been a Ring-bearer, even if just briefly.
It is unclear how long the Grey Havens lasted into the Fourth Age, as the number of Elves decreased with the coming of the "Age of Men". Supposedly Círdan, the Shipwright, remained at the Grey Havens until the last ship sailed West from Middle-earth to the Undying lands.
The cache
This cache will take you to the most western shores of continental Europe, to a place with magnificent surroundings that could inspire the scenarios imagined by Tolkien and put into practice by director Peter Jackson in his masterpiece movie.
Be sure to bring appropriate footwear. Avoid searching for this cache at rainy days, as the terrain conditions can become quite harder. Park the car at N 38º 46.939; W 009º 29.660, take the nearby trail and proceed to the next waypoint at N 38º 47.089; W 009º 29.604. Follow this trail and continue to N 38º 47.188; W 009º 29.603, where you will now find a steep descending trail. Take it! The real adventure is about to begin…

A história
Os Portos Cinzentos foram construídos pelos elfos no início da Segunda Era, com o objectivo de deixar a Terra-média para Ocidente, rumo a Valinor.
Após a derrota de Sauron e a coroação do rei Elessar no final da Terceira Era, Gandalf, Elrond e Galadriel deixaram a Terra-média para Valinor a partir dos Portos Cinzentos. Bilbo e Frodo Baggins também embarcaram nesta viagem, uma vez que ambos haviam sido portadores do Anel Um. Diz-se que Samwise Gamgee, anos mais tarde, também navegou para Ocidente rumo aos Portos Cinzentos, porque também ele havia sido um portador do Anel Um, mesmo que só por alguns instantes.
Não é claro quanto tempo os Portos Cinzentos se mantiveram durante a Quarta Era, uma vez que o número de Elfos diminuiu progressivamente com a chegada da "Idade dos Homens". Supostamente Círdan, o Armador, permaneceu nos Portos Cinzentos até que o último navio navegou para Ocidente, desde a Terra-média às Terras Imortais.

Esta cache vai levá-lo até às costas mais ocidentais da Europa continental, para um local de paisagens magníficas digno de inspiração dos cenários imaginados por Tolkien e colocados em prática pelo realizador Peter Jackson na sua obra-prima.
Certifique-se de trazer calçado adequado. Evite procurar a cache em dias de chuva, uma vez que as condições do terreno se podem tornar muito difíceis. Estacione o carro em N º 38 46.939; º W 009 29.660 e aí apanhe o caminho de terra até ao próximo waypoint em N º 38 47.089; º W 009 29.604. Siga esse caminho e continue até N º 38 47.188; º W 009 29.603, onde vai encontrar um pequeno trilho descendente de acentuada inclinação. Siga-o! A verdadeira aventura está prestes a começar...
