Celebrating the 10 years of Geocaching and more than 40 geocaches
in Buenos Aires.
Come meet other Geocachers, share your geocaching stories,
have fun, go geocaching and exchange your travel bugs and
geocoins!
Whether you are a local geocacher or a visitor from abroad,
and whether you are new to geocaching, interested in it as a fun
family sport, or want to take your skills to the next level, join
us for a day of geocaching talk and activities.
The activities
- Making friends and chatting: We'll talk a lot, present
each other and share our geocaching experiences.
- Tutorials: If you want to learn, we can cover the basics
of Geocaching, GPS and paperless caching.
- Exchanging stuff: Bring your TBs and GCs to share.
- Going geocaching and scoring a FTF: After the meeting,
those that want can go geocaching. In a half mile radius from
the event there are 10 geocaches, including the biggest TB
hotel of Argentina, the tren de la costa ride IV cache and the entire
Surviving in Buenos Aires series.
There's also the possibility that during the meeting we present a
brand new cache, so that attendees run to score a FTF!
Date and Location
This special event will be held in Northern Buenos Aires on
Saturday 1st May, at 10am. At
the Barrancas de Alvear, a nice Bar along the coast.
Address is: Alvear St. and the River ("Alvear y el Río", or
Alvear St. and El Cano St.), Martinez.
Access to the place is easy, even for people coming from abroad.
Its 20 minutes from downtown.
Recommended options:
- By taxi or remis: direct the driver to go to Martinez,
by Libertador Avenue. When he reaches Martinez, go to the right on
Alvear Street. Check or print this map:

Ir a Martinez por Libertador, doblar en Alvear (la esquina de
Las Olas Boulevard).
- Or get to the tren de la costa touristic train, at the
Libertador or Maipú station, then descend at the Anchorena Station.
Event site is half a mile to the north. Note: don't be late, you
can stop for the nearby caches after the meeting.
This option is ideal if you want after the meeting to go to the
Puerto de Frutos or check the other caches of the
Tren de la Costa ride series.

- By public bus (not recommended for foreigners): the 168
line stops at Alvear an Libertador. Event is half a mile to the
east.
For those coming from abroad:
If you come from abroad and need assistance for reaching the
event tell us in the log, we may be able to offer free
transportation or coordinate a single remis for various geocachers
coming from downtown.
Notify your intention to attend
Click on "log your visit" and then choose "Will Attend"
(instead of "Write note") as the Type of log.
Optionally, state if you need additional info or assistance in
reaching the event site.
And if you already know which Tbs you'll exchange at the event,
leave them here while you leave your log.

Ya seas un geocacher local o un visitante del extranjero, y
ya seas un principiante, estes interesado en geocaching como un
deporte familiar, o quieras llevar tus conocimientos al próximo
nivel, únete a nosotros para una tarde de charlas y actividades de
geocaching.
Las actividades
- Hacer amigos y charlar: Charlaremos mucho,
presentándonos y compartiendo nuestras experiencias en
geocaching.
- Tutoriales: Si quieres aprender, podemos cubrir las
cosas básicas de Geocaching, de GPS y de 'paperless caching'.
- Intercambiar: Trae tus TBs y GCs para
intercambiar.
- Ir de geocaching y quizás lograr un FTF: Después del
evento, aquellos que lo deseen pueden ir de geocaching. En un
radio de tan solo 600 metros del evento hay 10 geocaches,
incluyendo el mas grande hotel de TBs de la Argentina, el cache
tren de la costa ride IV y la serie completa de
Sobreviviendo en Buenos Aires. Asimismo, es
posible que durante el evento presentemos un nuevo cache, para que
los asistentes corran y compitan para ser el FTF.
Fecha y Lugar del Evento
Este evento especial se realiza en la Zona Norte de Buenos
Aires, el Sábado Primero de Mayo, a las 10
de la mañana. En las "Barrancas de Alvear", un atractivo
bar sobre la costa
La dirección es: Alvear y el Rio (o Alvear y El Cano),
Martinez.
Llegar al evento es fácil, incluso para los extrangeros. Se
llega en tan solo 20 minutos desde el centro.
Opciones recomendadas:
- Por taxi or remis: Hay que llegar a Martinez, por la
Avenida Libertador. Al llegar a Martinez, doblar a la derecha en
Alvear. Estudia o imprime el siguiente mapa:

Ir a Martinez por Libertador, doblar en Alvear (la esquina de
Las Olas Boulevard).
- O súbete al tren de la costa (un tren turístico), en la
estación Libertador o Maipú, y baja en la estación Anchorena. El
evento se encuentra 800 metros al norte de la estación . No te
distraigas con los caches cercanos, para no llegar tarde, puedes
buscarlos tras la reunión.
Esta opción es ideal si tras la reunión planeas ir al Puerto de
Frutos o buscar los otros caches de la serie Tren de la Costa ride, que se encuentran en las
distintas estaciones del tren.

- Via Colectivo (no recomendado para los turistas): La
línea 168 para en Alvear y Libertador. El evento está 600 metros al
este.
La línea 168 pasa por Puente Saavedra, Cabildo y Juramento,y llegan
hasta la Boca. Mas info.
Para aquellos que vienen de afuera:
Si eres extranjero y necesitas que te guiemos mas para llegar al
evento dínoslo en el log. Podríamos llegar a ofrecer transporte, o
coordinar un solo remis para varios geocachers que vengan del
centro .
