Geocache Description:

After finding "Tag! You're it!" I wanted to continue the game and place a hide in Maskells Mill WMA. A cacher I respect once said something along the lines that if you were't willing to go further to place a cache you shouldn't be just dropping them along the way. In general, I agree with that idea.

So I bushwhacked, tromped through the swamp, hopped a creek and came to a little clearing and knew this was the spot. The funny thing is that I was actually just far enough away to satisify distance for placing a cache; it sure seemed like I'd gone a lot further! Of course, on the way out I found a much easier way. Which option will you choose?

The cache name will give you a good idea where the container is located. I just couldn't resist using some of my newly acquired skills to place this hide, but it shouldn't be too difficult. You are seeking a camouflaged matchstick container secured in place. You will need to bring a writing utensil to log your find.

Kudos to Nikon-ing for coming upon this new playground and inviting us to play, "Tag!" You will find this WMA is a bit different than some of those we generally hike. There are lots of interesting areas to explore. I found there is some hilly terrain, packed sand trails, and even a lovely little blue hole where young folks have rigged up some sort of rope crossing.

The eight foot barbed wire fences and huge gates have me curious as to what this area was once used for. Perhaps someone can fill us in on the history of the area.

Be safe and have fun!
