I love geocaching, and I love goecaching on Mt Wellington more than any other place I've cached. So when I was asked by pjamesk to place a cache for geocaching's 10 year anniversary, this is the spot that immediately came to mind. This cache may be pretty basic, but it's just what I like in a cache: great walk, great views, no scrambling over sensitive environment, and a decent sized container.
WHAT TO BRING This cache is located at just over 1100m above sea level. As always while walking on Mt Wellington, be prepared for changeable weather: bring water, sun hats, sunscreen, wear layered clothing (with a water-proof outer layer) and snacks if you're taking one of the longer options for getting here. And fully charge your camera batteries and clear your SD card before heading out! This track is not open to mountain bikes or dogs, and prams are certainly not advisable.
ORIGINAL CONTENTS The old Tasmanian Geocaching Guidelines seem to have lapsed, however this cache is fully compliant and contains, among other things: frogs, a bouncy ball, and marbles (in case you're lost yours).
DIRECTIONS
