always Do!)
Gloves, Boots and Shovel (It's best to have one that fits and
you're comfortable with!)
Bring Your Own Water bottle filled to the planting area.
Refreshments available @ BBQ
Why: Among the many
reasons for tree planting, our aim is to give back to the area in a
way that creates food and habitat for wildlife through
reforestation. Our efforts will also provide additional shoreline
rehabilitation along Baxter Creek. To keep with the CITO
requirements, cachers are advised to collect any trash they can
during the event at the planting locations.
Our Goal: As a group
of geocachers, our aim is to plant our own area together and have a
fun experience! This is a great opportunity to teach young ones how
to plant trees and the importance it has in our local
ecosystem.
Cachers
are welcome to attend the free BBQ offered by
Millbrook Valley Trail group which will have refreshments, hot dogs
and hamburgers available. In addition, there will be a few caches
set in the area in time for the event, so stay tuned for updates
and feel free to ask any questions through a
post.
Will be visiting GZ in the coming week to
identify more accurate coordinates for this event page including a
planting zone. Looking forward to the Event! See you on May
8th!
