The cache is one of a series of eight caches set on the lower tracks of Dunain Hill near Inverness. The complete walk is about two and a half miles and is on good tracks, although they can be a bit muddy in wet weather. Also there are a couple of stiles to cross, and one fallen tree to negotiate. The walk is through mixed woodland, and makes its way gently along the side of the hill, but there are a couple of steeper parts.

On the way to this cache you will pass by a cemetery for pets of patients at the old Craig Dunain Hospital. Once you have done the cache leave by the main path leading away from the pond opposite the houses. Follow the path around and you will come to the old cemetery for patients of the hospital. Go through the cemetery and leave by the obvious path which goes under the fence!
