Geocache Description:

Nene Park and Ferry Meadows in particular provide wonderful opportunities for outdoor recreation and informal activities and is the perfect setting for people of all ages to experience nature, heritage and the great outdoors.

There are cafe's and toilet facilities available here (during opening times) and also many different ways of getting into Ferry Meadows. The park is open all year for walking, cycling and informal recreation. Most of the facilities in Ferry Meadows operate at weekends from Easter to October and most days in school holidays in the summer; some operate for most of the year.

In recent years Nene Park Trust has commissioned three works by the Sheffield based sculptor Jason Thompson."The Sheepwash" sited alongside a pond in the wood, it's theme is the past use of the pond to wash local sheep flocks before shearing. It is carved on a large panel of Oak timbers.

It is wheel chair friendly right up to the sculpture, but unfortunately not to the cache.

The Nene Park Trust have been kind enough to grant permission to place this cache here.

You are looking for a regular sized lock and lock box. Pen was placed in the box, but would advise you bring your own writing implements just in case.

Why not try some of the other caches in this area?

Good luck everyone! =)
