Krimšček is a hill above Rakitna, offering an undemanding destination for an afternoon walk - or for a more demanding cycling tour.
Krimšček is a small hill (elev 940 m) above Rakitna plateau (elev 800 m), offering an easy destination for an afternoon catch of fresh air outside of Ljubljana. A nearby opposite slope of Novaška Gora, 450 m SE from Krimšček, offers a nice view overlooking Rakitna and the surrounding Krim mountain range area - but lacks a good hiding place for a cache.
We prefer to leave a car by the "Cycling Refuge 1" (GC20RF1) cache. From there it takes about 50 minutes to the top. It is possible to park even closer and shorten the walk in half, at the NW outskirts of the Rakitna village. An alternative approach is from the SE, following the ridge of Novaška Gora, starting from road Rakitna - Cerknica.
A general advice: Krim area is a habitat of a bear, so it is advised to avoid walking in the area at night.
The cache is an 0.8 litre plastic box.

Krimšček je majhen vrh (940 m nad morjem) nad Rakitno (800 m n.m.), ki se ponuja kot nezahteven cilj za popoldanski izlet po svežem zraku v ljubljanski okolici. Na nasprotni strani majhnega sedla se pričenja greben Novaške gore - tam po 450 metrih JV od Krimščka se odpira lep razgled nad planoto in Krimom - le dobrega in varnega skrivališča za zakladek ni najti.
Najraje pustiva avtomobil pri zakladu "Cycling Refuge 1" (GC20RF1). Od tam je do vrha kakšnih 50 minut hoje. Pot se da skrajšati na polovico, če se pusti avto ob SZ robu naselja. Alternativni dostop je iz JV s ceste Rakitna - Cerknica prek grebena Novaške Gore.
Splošno opozorilo: pogorje Krima je habitat medveda, zato se ni pametno sprehajati ponoči izven obljudenih področij.
