Skansen Taboru Kolejowego w Chabówce

Teren parowozowni zalozonej pod koniec XIX wieku, w której w latach swietnosci stacjonowalo 80 parowozów, to miejsce, gdzie 100 lat pózniej powstal skansen historii kolejnictwa. Na stale poszerzana ekspozycje skladaja sie parowozy, lokomotywy elektryczne i spalinowe, wagony oraz tabor specjalny taki jak zurawie, plugi sniezne itp. Czesc eksponatów utrzymanych jest w stanie pelnej sprawnosci. Skansen w Chabówce jest nie tylko najwieksza tego typu ekspozycja w Polsce, ale takze najczesciej odwiedzana.

Specjalnie na potrzeby pociagów retro wybudowano peron i wiate stacji Chabówka Skansen. Wykorzystano w tym celu zabytkowe elementy pochodzace z pierwszego peronu dworca Kraków Glówny.

Skansen, oprócz ekspozycji stalej oraz pociagów retro wielokrotnie udostepnial i adaptowal swój tabor na potrzeby produkcji filmowych. Wsród najbardziej znanych produkcji ostatnich lat w których byl wykorzystywany tabor ze Skansenu wymienic nalezy filmy "Lista Schindlera" (wykorzystano tu jedyny zachowany w Polsce zabytkowy sklad wagonów towarowych), "Przedwiosnie", "Szatan z siódmej klasy", "Zloto Dezerterów", "Slawa i Chwala".

Skansen jest czynny codziennie od 7:00 do 19:00. Skrytka znajduje sie poza terenem Muzeum.
