Date: Sunday, November 18th
Time: 12:00 noon
Location: Marymoor Park in Redmond - (Click on the windmill to go to the Marymoor Park web site)

It's been four months since the last geocaching event in western Washington, so it seemed like high time for another one! It's a potluck picnic, so bring whatever items you wish to share with the group, and post what you're bringing here so we don't end up all bringing Krispy Kreme dougnuts (not like that's a bad thing).

Come join the fun, relax with some good food and drink, and sign a square for the Geocaching Quilt!

The Geocaching Quilt is the brainchild of DxChallenged of Akron, NY. You can read more about this project at this discussion in the Groundspeak forums. She has currently distributed quilting squares to geocachers in 16 states and 6 countries (USA, Canada, England, Germany, Australia and South Africa). Here's how it works:

  1. Please only one block per group.

  2. Write only on the white section of the block (stay within the pencil lines).

  3. You can draw a picture, write a small verse, or sign your geocaching name.

  4. Be sure to mention what area of the world (city, state, country) you're from!
Once all of the squares have been signed, I will package them up and mail them back to DxChallenged for inclusion in the quilt.

In addition to signing quilt squares, let's also plan on continuing the tradition begun at the 1st Washington Geocaching Picnic in July -- collecting items from each attendee and creating a traditional cache from them. I will bring the container (a .50-cal ammo can), logbook and pen & pencil. Be thinking of that one special tchochke, Travel Bug or other item that you'd like to bring to add to the community chest!

Note that I received 12 quilt squares, so there is a chance that we will run out of them at the event. Should any of the squares remain unsigned after the event, they will be placed in the group cache that we create and that will be hidden sometime after the luncheon.

For purposes of making reservations, please log an "Other" log below before November 15th to let me know how many attendees to expect.
