How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

Come and join other geocachers from around the area and help make this CITO event a success. The more people and trash we can pick up, the better it reflects on the local geocaching community. This is in cooperation with The Prince William County Park Authority. We will be cleaning up litter in Cloverdale Park. Sunday was chosen as Saturday is a busy day in the park.

Sign in at the Cloverdale parking lot at 9:00 AM for a short talk about where we will concentrate our efforts. After the talk we will start gathering trash. The park authority will provide garbage bags and a drop off point to place the collected garbage.

Remember: SAFETY FIRST! Please use your best judgment if bringing children to this event. We strongly recommend that you bring your own leather work gloves for additional protection.

Return to the sign-in area at 11:00 AM to drop off your garbage bags.

Trash Pick Up Sticks
GPS Unit for Geocaching
Sun Block
Bug Spray
Rain Gear (if needed!)

Attire:
Wear old clothes, preferably with long sleeves and long pants.
Sturdy closed toed boots or shoes with good tread

Parking:

At the Cloverdale parking lot. From 95, take Dale City Blvd west, left at Benita Fitzgerald, and a right at Cloverdale, and left into the park.
