Während des schnellen Rückschmelzens des letzten Inlandeises entstanden in einer Stillstandphase vor etwa 15.000 Jahren die flachen Moränenzüge zwischen Welzin, Ost- und Westklüne und Zecherin. Sie bestehen - wie ihr gesamtes Rückland - vorwiegend aus Geschiebemergel. Das durch Gletschertore entlassene Schmelzwasser schuf Rinnen im Untergrund (Kehle), vereinigte sich mit Schmelzwasser aus Hinterpommern sowie dem Oderwasser und floss über das Peenetal (entgegen der heutigen Fließrichtung der Peene) in nordwestliche Richtung ab.
Spätere Stillstandlagen befinden sich nordöstlich der heutigen Stadt Usedom und schütteten z. B. den Mellenthiner Sander auf.
Ein großer Teil dieses Gletscherschmelzwassers floss möglicherweise über einen gewaltigen XXXX im Untergrund durch die Kehle ab.
Dieser XXXX taute später wieder auf und bildete eine große Hohlform. Diese Hohlform wurde durch den ansteigenden Meeresspiegel über die Kehle geflutet. Es entstand der Usedomersee.
Die Stabilisierung des Wasserstandes vor etwa 5500 Jahren und die aktive Küstendynamik beförderten einerseits den Küstenabtrag, andererseits die Sedimentation und Hakenbildung.
In flachen Senken und Buchten kam es zur Verlandung und Torfbildung. Nur der Usedomer see existierte aufgrund seiner größeren Wassertiefe und des windabhängigen Wasseraustauschs über die Kehle zum Haff weiter.
Über die Kehle besteht seither eine günstige Schiffsverbindung zwischen der Stadt Usedom und dem Haff. Sie wurde erst im 20. Jahrhundert ausgebaggert.
Aufgabe:
Zum Loggen dieses Caches sind nun folgende Bedingungen zu erfüllen:
1. Nennt mir den Gegenstand, der zur Entstehung des Usedomer Sees führte. Bitte sendet mir die Antwort per Mail.
2. Mache ein Bild von dir und/oder deinem GPSr auf der Bank (wenn Du möchtest)

English:
During the fast meltback of the last inshore ice sheet in a stationary phase about 15,000 years ago, a flat moraine was formed between Welzin, Ost- and Westklüne and Zecherin. They consist primarily of glacial till as the entire country back. The glacial meltwater directed by openings in the glacier created channels in the surface (Kehle). Combined with melt water from Pomerania and the Oderwater it flowed through the Peene Valley (opposite to the current flow direction of the Peene) to the north-west.
Later stop layers are northeast of the present town of Usedom and for example, the Mellenthin Sander was built.
Probably much of this glacier melt water flowed over a huge underground XXXX through the Kehle.
This XXXX later melted again and formed a large hollow. This hollow was flooded by rising sea levels through the Kehle. The Usedomersee.accured.
The stabilization of the water level about 5500 years ago and the active coastal dynamics carried on the change of the coastline on the one hand and on the other hand, the sedimentation and the formation of the hook.
In shallow hollows and bays silting and peat formation occured. Only the Usedomer see continued to exist due to its greater water depth and the wind-water exchange through the Kehle to the lagoon.
Since then there is a convenient possibility for shipping between the town of Usedom and the Lagoon. It was not dredged until the 20th Century.

To log this cache the following conditions need to be fulfilled:
1. Give me the object which led to the formation of Usedom lake. Please send the answer to me by mail.
2. Take a picture of you and/or your GPSr on the bench (if you like)
