A fun Nite Cache in Round Rock alongside Brushy Creek.
So there you sit watching the same old reruns on cable, clogging
your veins with more bad junk food, noticing your butt getting
bigger, and bored out of your skull.
Suddenly, someone in your family bursts into the room shouting with
more excitement than you can remember since last Halloween about a
new geocache hidden nearby that involves leaving the house after
dark and looking for treasure using flashlights.
A short drive later and you arrive at the coordinates listed above
where everyone bolts from the car, flashlights blazing and the
search is on!
While you're just beginning to cast your gaze skyward wondering
just where to start, the kids shout "I see it! " and dash off into
the dark, lights bouncing over all the terrain between you and
them.
You've already told them to go towards the light, and when they get
there, to stop and look around at a distance at about the same
height for the next clue. Finally, after a few threats and bribes,
they slow down enough for you to catch up with them where you
remind them that this was supposed to be an outing that you were
all doing together.
After a few moans and groans, you all proceed together and move on
to ground zero marked by a red triangle of
“lights”.
Once there, you trade swag, sign the log, retrace your steps, pile
back into the car and boogie on back home to log your visit online
and finish with just enough time to eat the last Oreo and catch one
final rerun of Seinfeld before turning in for the night.
