La Grotta Azzurra sull'isola di Capri è una cava conosciuta in ogni parte il mondo per i toni intensi blu del suo interno e la luce magica argentea che emana dagli oggetti immersi nelle sue acque.


Il nuoto non è più consentito dentro la cava.

Capri non è un'isola vulcanica, ma è composto di calcare e di arenaria. La costa di Capri è punteggiata con le cave che sono formati dall'erosione e da superare.
La terra è corrosa dalla tempestare di colpi costante del mare, principalmente dai processi di azione idraulica, la corrasione, l'attrito e la corrosione. L'azione idraulica accade quando la forza delle onde comprime dei vuoti d'aria nelle rocce costiere e le scogliere. L'aria si allarga esplosivamente, rompendo le rocce a parte. È anche la forza dell'acqua sulla scogliera. Le rocce ed i ciottoli lanciati dalle onde contro il logorio di faccia di scogliera esso lontano dal processo di corrasione, o l'abrasione poiché è saputo anche. Le coste di gesso e calcare sono spesso guastate dalla soluzione (ha chiamato anche la corrosione). L'attrito è il processo da cui le particelle di roccia corrose loro stessi sono consumati, diventa più piccolo e più arrotondato.

Ciò che fa La Grotta Azzurra diverso dalle altre cave è il fatto che i passi di luce del sole attraverso una cavità subacquea. Poiché brilla attraverso l'acqua di mare, una riflessione blu è creata che illumina la caverna. Per abbattere quest'EarthCache, per favore di inviare per posta elettronica GG + J le risposte alle domande seguenti che usano la maglia di profilo sopra:

1. Valutare la misura dell'entrata di cava.
2. A che ora di giorno è migliore per visitare la cava e perché?
3. Quale colore è filtrato dello spettro per creare la bella riflessione blu?
4. Quante "stanze" sono nella cava?

La Grotta Azzurra (Blue Grotto) on the island of Capri is a cave known throughout the world for the intense blue tones of its interior and the magical silvery light which emanates from the objects immersed in its waters.
The cave is accessible by boat, but is not safe during bad weather, and its accessibility is tide-dependent.

Swimming is no longer allowed within the cave.

Capri is not a volcanic island, but is composed of limestone and sandstone. The coast of Capri is dotted with caves which are formed by erosion and weathering.

The land is eroded by the constant battering of the sea, primarily by the processes of hydraulic action, corrasion, attrition, and corrosion. Hydraulic action occurs when the force of the waves compresses air pockets in coastal rocks and cliffs. The air expands explosively, breaking the rocks apart. It is also the force of the water on the cliff. Rocks and pebbles flung by waves against the cliff face wear it away by the process of corrasion, or abrasion as it is also known. Chalk and limestone coasts are often broken down by solution (also called corrosion). Attrition is the process by which the eroded rock particles themselves are worn down, becoming smaller and more rounded.



What makes La Grotta Azzurra different from other caves is the fact that sunlight passes through an underwater cavity. As it shines through the seawater, a blue reflection is created that illuminates the cavern.
