PT: A Capinha é uma aldeia do concelho de Fundão, distrito de Castelo Branco, província da Beira Baixa. Dizem os livros que há muitos séculos atrás, a Capinha foi invadida por um povo chamado romano, vinham de Mérida (Espanha) para uma zona que é hoje a Beira. Então passou por aqui um senhor chamado Talabo que fundou uma cidade à qual deu o nome de Talabara.
É uma aldeia muito antiga. Provam-no os vários achados arqueológicos e os restos de um quase destruído castro, mas ainda visível, junto ao Cruzeiro existente no topo da Serra da Santinha, em cuja encosta sul a Capinha se situa.
Elevado em 1905 em homenagem à mãe de Deus, este cruzeiro proporciona uma vista sobranceira sobre a região.
A cache:
Com esta cache pretendemos levar-vos a disfrutar de uma vista previligiada sobre a aldeia da Capinha e sobre o vale da Cova da Beira. A subida implica algum esforço mas o caminho está genericamente bem arranjado, proporcionando um agradável passeio na natureza. Não é uma cache drive-in, a não ser que tenham um veículo todo o terreno, e mesmo assim aconselhamos a caminhada. Deixem o carro num dos dois pontos de entrada indicados e façam a subida calmamente. A vista vale bem a pena. ATENÇÃO: Existe um caminho bem definido e circulável por veículos 4x4 para vos levar ao GZ, não são necessárias escaladas nem incursões através de mato cerrado.
EN: Capinha is a village in the municipality of Fundão, Castelo Branco, Beira Baixa province. The books say that many centuries ago, Capinha was invaded by a people called the Roman, that came from Mérida (Spain) for an area that is now known as Beira. At that time, a gentleman called Talabo came by and founded a city which he named Talabara.
It is a very old village. To prove it there are various archaeological finds and the remains of a fort almost destroyed, but still visible next to the cross on the top of the Serra da Santinha, in whose southern slope lies the Capinha.
Built in 1905 in honor of the Mother of God, this cross offers a view overlooking on the region.
The cache:
With this cache we want to take you to enjoy a privileged view over the village of Capinha and the valley of Cova da Beira. The climb involves some effort but the path is generally well kept, providing a pleasant walk in nature. Not a drive-in cache, unless you have a 4x4 vehicle, and even then you are advised to walk. Leave the car in one of the two points of entry identified and make the climb slowly. The view is well worth it.
ATENTION: There is a well defined trail, usable by 4x4 vehicles that takes you to the cache location, there is no need to climb rocks or walk through dense forest.
