RTH20 Quick Duck (Chitty Chitty Bang Bang filming) Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

SimplySolly: It does seem this one has gone off to that big duck house in the sky.
So we're archiving it, toot sweet...
Thanks everyone who looked for it, successful or not, and sorry to those who tried and came up blank; we hope you enjoyed the pond and pause anyway.

Geocache Description:

Round the Horne was a classic radio comedy series which ran from 1965 until 1968. Have a look at RTH01 for more information. Like the writers, SimplySolly enjoy the odd double entendre...

Gather the numbers as you go to find the bonus cache. This ring is best done on foot rather than cycle as most of it is footpath. Some mud in poor conditions but mostly ok. Short section of road to walk, and two to cross. Approx 8Km/5miles/3-4hours to finish.

You'll find parking close to the phone box around the corner from this cache, but I suggest you do it as a part of the series and park near RTH01. The co-ords bring you to a very pretty spot overlooking a duck pond, full of very quick ducks -hence the cache name- with the cross of St George fluttering close by. This is the pond seen in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang- a websearch for video will show you an 'After They Were Famous' video shot here with the two children -all grown up!- from the film. Bring a camera. Little clue: Are those ducks wilde?
