L’ancienne église de Grésy
Grésy sur Isère a été occupée par l’homme dès le néolithique. Plus tard, une voie romaine traversait le village. Une pierre gravée de cette époque sert de fontaine près de l’ancienne église. La construction de celle-ci date de la fin du 12éme siècle. Agrandie et remaniée plusieurs fois au cours des siècles, elle fut abandonnée au profit l’église actuelle, consacrée en 1846.
Aujourd’hui, le plus surprenant est cette structure d’acier et de plastique qui la préserve des intempéries.

Humans have lived in Grésy sur Isère from Neolithic. Later, a Roman road went through the village. A carved stone from this era is used as a fountain near the old church. This church was built at the end of the 12th century. Extended and reworked several times along the centuries, it was abandoned for the current church, consecrated in 1846.
Nowadays, the more surprising is this framework made of steel and plastic which protects it from bad weather.
