"Beware the Ides of March"... but only if your name is Julius
Caesar. In 44 B.C. Julius Caesar was assassinated on the steps of
the Senate house in Rome. Although warned by a Seer, (do you
remember Up Pompeii with Frankie Howard as Lurcio?) he famously
chose to ignore the warning to his detriment.
The "ides" originally refer to the day of the full moon. The
Romans celebrated March 15 as a feast day of the God Mars and the
term "Ides" came to represent the mid way point of the month.
March is also the month in which spring begins. The Vernal
Equinox (hours of equal lightness and darkness) occurs around the
21st of the month. This year, 2010, the equinox occurs on the 20th
at 17:32. I hope that, like me, you're looking forward to ther
inreased daylight hours.
March is also associated with mad hares, which brings us on to
this cache. The stamp in this cache is a mad hare. This is my first
"Letterbox" cache and I hope you enjoy it. You are looking for a
"clip lock" box, which contains a few swaps, a stamp (the mad hare)
and an ink pad.
