Geocache Description:

Hayes Common covers 79 hectares and is dominated by secondary oak woodland with small patches of lowland dry heath land, dry acid grassland, lichen heath, scrub and ponds. It has a high biodiversity value - some of the habitats are of national importance. The Common is very popular with visitors and a network of permissive footpaths and bridleways cross the site.

You are looking for a black, regular sized container with a screw top lid, please ensure the lid is screwed on properly before replacing and you will need your own pen.

I have named this cache after my mother, Robyn, who lives in Australia. When she visited me last, we had a lovely day up in Hayes Common, even though I managed to get us extremely lost in there and we had to ask for assistance to get out again! If only I had a gps back then. She also geocached to the max with me out in Australia at Christmas 2009.

Click the link to check out some of the great walks around Hayes and Bromley.

There are car parks in Baston Road, Croydon Road and Commonside.

You can also access this area by national rail into Hayes Station or Bromley South and get a bus to Hayes (Nos 314, 246 and 119 will take you to Hayes Station)

Note the cache has no pen, I couldn't get one to fit in.

**** Congratulations to lillyshrimp and zoecakes for joint FTF! ****
