Geocache Description:

This is the twelfth cache in my finite mathematical series. I am a math teacher by day. I thought a cache series dedicated to math would be a good way to educate the public.

There is nothing at the posted coordinates. Do NOT go there!

Triangles are very powerful shapes with lots of interesting and useful properties. Some of the most interesting are the intersections of special lines in a triangle. There are four main types: angle bisectors, perpendicular bisectors, medians, and altitudes. Today we will learn a little more about the perpendicular bisectors.

Medians are
lines drawn from the midpoint of the side to the opposite vertex. The three medians of a triangle intersect at the centroid, G. What's so special about this centroid? The centroid is the center of gravity! If you properly construct a triangle on a sheet of paper, and properly find the centroid, then you can balance that triangle on a point.

Given below are the vertices of triangle ABC. You will need to find the centroid of this triangle. My measurements were taken and calculated in UTM. There are many ways you can go about this challenge, and it is up to you to figure it out. Please do not exchange hints. Contact me if all else fails.

Once you have solved the puzzle email me for confirmation. You will be looking for a medium sized lock-n-lock.
