Geocache Description:

The Swinside Stone Circle is one of the most impressive in Cumbria. The circle is also known as Sunkenkirk, after a legend that the Devil made the stones sink into the ground to prevent them being used to build a church's foundation.

The position of the stone circle affords splendid views of the nearby fells.

To approach the cache please use the gate next to the stone circle and in no circumstances should you try to climb over the dry stone wall.
