Geocache Description:

Come celebrate the One Millionth Geocache!

Through some complicated mathematical algorithms that involved the theories of Euler, Fibonacci, Fermat, Gauss, Leibniz, Ramanujan, and LaGrange, we have determined that the One Millionth active geocache is this one in Vista. So be sure and visit what’s certain to become a sought after destination within cacherdom.

This also has the distinction of being the first Macca cache in the Western Hemisphere and the first north of the Equator. It's patterned after the famous ‘James’ “Macca” Cache’ (GCAFCF) in McKenzies Reserve near Alexandra, Victoria, Australia.

And lastly, this cache is along Vista’s premier trail system. Ignoring the fact that no one knows where it is, that you can only enter from one end, that there’s no parking, that you take your life in your hands trying to get to the trail, that there are no amenities (except for two trash cans), that it borders a stinking, garbage-strewn, pestilential gash in the earth, and that there is absolutely no other reason to come here, you have the makings of a wonderful geocaching experience. The City of Vista has spared no expense in creating this powerful and unsurpassed trail system.

The nice ammo can with the vintage Macca disappeared after two visitors so it was changed to a Decon container and moved slightly. But then that disappeared so it was changed to a round Lock 'n Lock. Coincidentally, there were sightings of Mr. Paul L. Repak of Boonville, New York visiting Vista last week and we surmise that he probably couldn't resist owning the One Millionth Geocache.

This cache may have special geocoins in it that also commemorate the One Millionth active geocache. If you would like to discover those coins after you've found the cache then good for you. We used to give out the tracking numbers on request but we were admonished by Groundspeak that one must have physically been in the presence of a travel bug in order to be allowed to log it. Never heard of that? Well neither had we. Send us a note if you'd like to make arrangements to make discovery possible.

Head downhill toward the concrete wall. The cache should have a small covering of leaves. Please recover it again with a thin layer of leaves or other debris. The terrain rating applies only to the final 10 seconds as you approach the cache.
