The Location: Braidburn Valley Park has
been a public park since 1933. It is located in South Edinburgh in
the Morningside/Oxgangs area. The Park is a steep grassy valley cut
in two by the Braid Burn which flows north from the Pentland Hills
to the Firth of Forth.
The Park covers 11 hectares making it the fourth biggest Community
Park in Edinburgh. In 2007, it was awarded Scotland’s first
Green Flag for excellence in parks. The Park is open to the public
24 hours a day. It is popular for dog walking, informal sports and
relaxing – whether it is playing hide and seek, or seeing
cherry blossom from the top of a passing bus. (source) |

The Game: You are a visitor of the park.
Take a stroll and enjoy the scenery. If you come across other
(virtual) people or find any (virtual) items just behave as you
would in real life (within the limits of the interface. ). Good deeds will be rewarded and on
successful completion of the cartridge you will receive the
coordinates of a (real) micro cache. The wherigo will present you
with a list of tasks as the story unfolds. Whenever a task is
completed the cartridge will safe the game, but you may want to
save more frequently. The story is non-linear and zones can be
visited in any order, so turn your device on as soon as you enter
the park through any of the entrances in the north, south, east or
west. |

The Cartridge: You can
download the cartridge by clicking on the icon to the left. I
have tested it on the official Groundspeak
player, on OpenWig and on WhereYouGo. It has also been confirmed
working on Oregon and Colorado. (Garmin players will miss out on
the audio though.) PiGo on the iphone unfortunately does not
work with this cartridge.
