Geocache Description:

Aberystwyth Castle

Ruins Challenge

The coordinates given on the map are for the centre of the Site of the Castle Ruins and a good start point for the bits you'll need to find the real Cache coordinates.

Please note the clues are all visible from within the castle grounds but the cache itself is not within the grounds because the castle grounds are protected under law please respect the site. The cache is a magnetic nano

The cache's exact coordinates can be found by the following clues:-

Good luck! - they are in DMS or degrees, min and decimal min

Coordinates:-

N: 52 degrees A.BCD'

W: 04 degrees E.FGH'

A=The number of wooden floor boards on the bridge with the most floor boards.

B=The year in the 90's that Daphne Edwards Died

C=Number of women on the Cenotaph +1

D=The number of years in the 15thC that Owain Glyndwr used the castle as a base +1

E=The year in the 00's that Howard M.Evans Died

F=The day in Febuary that Howard M.Evans was born - the day in August that he died

G=The number of standing stones in the centre area of the castle -13

H=Number of cannons near the tallest part of the castle -2

Good luck!!

The cache itself is a small magnetic nano cache, but where it is it should be moderately difficult for a geocacher to spot, nigh on impossible for a muggle.

If your gps doesn't take the coordinates as i give them above, please use: http://www.geocaching.com/wpt/default.aspx and this will allow you to convert between coordinate conventions.

Enjoy the Views, and possibly the weather - if you are lucky!
