Geocache Description:

St Mary, St Cuthberga and All Saints, Witchampton

The church is a large handsome edifice in the later English style, with a square tower, which is the only remaining part of the original fabric erected in the 14th century.

All but the brown and grey stone 15c tower is Victorian 1833 - 44. The construction is banded stone and flint. There is a lectern of 1912 carved as a bunch of lilies and an impressive organ in the chancel.

Throughout the village there are lots of interesting cottages, many with thatched roofs and pretty gardens and also remains of an abbey.

To find the cache look at the war memorial. A=number of lines on main inscription. B = number of men from Witchampton. C = number of men from Long Critchel, D = number of men from Moor Critchel.

The cache can be found a short walk away at: N50 51.(C-2)(B/D)(A-1) W002 01.(B-D)(A-4)(D/A)
