A walk in the historic Moravian village of Fulneck

Park your car at the co-ordinates above and walk due east into the Fulneck settlement.
Fulneck, a unique part of Pudsey near Leeds, was settled by the Moravian Brethren in the 1740s.
Immediately the Moravians embarked on an extensive building programme so that most of Fulneck dates from the mid-eighteenth century. The settlement was built along the contour of the hill giving a linear main street and below it a fine terrace facing south over a rural valley. Most of the buildings are now part of Fulneck School (http://www.fulneckschool.co.uk/) although there are houses there too. The church dates from about 1750 and is worth a look in if it's open.

If you go right to the very end of the straight main street and round the corner, there is a small gift shop and you can see the house where Sir Len Hutton was born. There is a blue plaque on the wall at No.5. As well as Sir Len, Pudsey is the birthplace of Brian Close, Raymond Illingworth, Harry Ramsden and the Reverend Norman Driver. See if you can find out what he is famous for.
