Cmentarz:
W obrebie cmentarza parafialnego w Gromniku
znajduje sie wydzielony cmentarz wojskowy z I WS. Pochowanych jest
tu 131 zolnierzy armii austro-wegierskiej i 14 rosyjskiej.
Znajdujacy sie tutaj zolnierze pochodza z wielu róznych jednostek.
Sa to glównie zmarli w tymczasowych lazaretach, do których
transportowano rannych z pierwszej linii frontu.
Projektantem cmentarza byl Heinrich Scholz. Elementem centralnym
cmentarza jest niewielki obelisk, na którym znajduje sie
plaskorzezba glowy w antycznym helmie - elementu bardzo
charakterystycznego dla projektów Scholza.
Z tylu cmentarza wojskowego, poza jego ogrodzeniem znajduje sie
pomnik zolnierzy Armii Czerwonej poleglych podczas II WS.

The Cemetery:
On a civil cemetery in Gromnik there is a
separated war cemetery from WWI. 131 Austro-Hungarian soldiers and
14 Russian are buried there. The buried soldiers belonged to many
different military units. There are mostly soldiers who died in
temporary field hospitals where the injured were transported form
the 1st line of the front.
Heinrich Scholz was the designer of the cemetery. The central
feature is a small obelisk and there is a bas-relief of a head with
an ancient helmet carved on it. It's a very typical motif for
Scholz's designs.
In the back of the war cemetery, outside the fence there is a
memorial commemorating Red Army soldiers fallen during WWII.

logbook.
