Geocache Description:

Stanstead St Margarets Church of St Margarets is located along Hoddesdon Road. It is part of the benefice of Great Amwell, St Margarets and Stanstead Abbotts.

All of the four churches in the benefice are Grade II listed. The Church of St Margarets dates from around the twelfth century and includes a chamber organ which has been converted into a barrel organ. Beside the windows are 52 carved heads of people and animals. The church is occasionally open for teas and during the village's flower festival.

The cache is a nintendo memory card case and includes a log book inside. Please be careful when retrieving the cache as it is located next to the pavement beside the road with houses opposite. On very wet days the road is known to become partially flooded. You may be able to park next to the cache.

If any body would like to expand to this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication.
