Geocache Description:

A flash mob is a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual and pointless act for a brief time, then quickly disperse. They are intended to make onlookers ask "What just happened?"

As part of the Bye Bye Winter Weekend (event caches BBW CITO, BBW Flash Mob (this event), BBW Bash, BBW Night Cap, and Hellooo Spring Brunch), the flash mob will take place on Saturday afternoon, starting at EXACTLY 2:00 pm.

Please bring the following items with you:
• a caching card, which would be a business card sized piece of paper with your caching name on it. Include on this paper the number of people coming with you that do not have a different caching name. Note: this is considered your signing of the event log! A few blank cards will be available, but it really helps to bring your own! If your name is not in the container, you are not able to log the event!
• a blue hat, preferably in the lighter blue range. If you can wear a similar colour top as well, all the better. While this is not mandatory in order to log attendance, the group photo will look 100% better if everybody does this!

The schedule for the flash mob is below.

1:30 - 1:59 pm - DO NOT be in the area of ground zero. There is plenty of parking nearby, both across the street, and behind city hall, which are all within a few seconds walk from the site. The idea here is not to be identified as a crowd of people waiting for something to begin! There may be a cacher sitting on the fountain to shoo those who arrive in the area early away!

2:00 pm - Assemble quickly at Ground Zero. The signal for the assembly shall be the clock on City Hall striking 2 o'clock. At that time, coopsquared will emerge from City Hall with a container. As you arrive, make sure that you place your caching card into the container.

2:02 pm - A quick "flash mob meal" will take place, consisting of such caching staples as coins.

2:04 pm - The Flash Mob Activity will occur. Update: we all formed random statues around the fountain. It was VERY cool, as cars slowed down to see what was going on, and people stopped on the sidewalk trying to figure out what they were looking at.

2:06 pm - Please follow the directions as efficiently as possible for the group photos. There will be two distinct group photos taken, requiring participants to be wearing blue hats.

Update: The first picture was of the group forming the Gx geocaching symbol (photos to be posted later). The second photo was on the stairs.

2:10 pm - A draw will take place for the FTF honours, as well as a few small prizes. Update: We did the prize draw earlier! Oops. Congrats to Benandtina, bth7, cache slinger, and annswims for the door prize wins. The FTF will be awarded to the best statue pose, once we look at the photos.

2:14 pm - Gather your belongings, and get prepared to disperse.

2:15 pm - Leave ground zero. It is important that everybody disperses as quickly as we arrived. If you'd like to meet up with fellow cachers after the flash mob, I'd suggest either behind city hall (in the parking lot), or down the street at a local coffee shop, etc.
