Tole Spring 1 : Giant Tap WARNING WGS 72 DATUM
An Historic "Virtual" Geocache - Classed as 'Ancient' (2001)
Read more about The Historic Geocaches' campaign.
In the Italian village of Tole,
are a number of fresh water springs.
(I have heard as rumour of as many as 13)
The villagers have decorated each one differently.
My wife and I explored the village and found a number of the springs. Each one holds a different surprise.
We stayed in one of the local hotels, where we enjoyed the food, there is a large spring in the shape of a Giant Tap in the Hotel courtyard. This is the first spring... As I have started to get emails asking the name, it was Hotel Falco D'or, I am not affiliated in any way with the Hotel nor am I making a recommendation, I just want to keep my email traffic down!
Enjoy the search for the 13 springs....
When you find each one take a photo send it to me and log the find. I will not necessarily respond as my inbox keeps overflowing!
Ref WGS 72
OK I know I am an idiot but the week before I had been exploring the differences between Datum's and I forgot to check the Datum when I started logging the springs. was only after I got back from Tole did I find my mistake... In fact I found it when switching to OS GB to do some hiking this W/E on the 27th of October. Apologies for not having completed the series, but our friends in Groundspeak, eliminated the Virtual Caching option. :-(
