Geocache Description:

Almost a cache'n'dash in the Cambridgeshire village of Caxton. This cache is based on the Poppies on Parade series by Mr Nibbler (with his permission)

Caxton is a small village located a mile or so south-west of the modern development of Cambourne. The village is mostly comprised of the main road, Ermine Street, which used to carry the A1198. In recent times, a bypass moving the A-road to the east has been built, returning a sense of peace to the village. A few smaller roads lead off the main street but the village remains small.

Like every village, town and city in the UK, Caxton has sent its sons (and now, of course, daughters) to serve at sea, on land and in the air. Not all of them came back. Like almost every settlement in the UK they have a nicely maintained war memorial at which the fallen are remembered every year.

The cache is located near the memorial, but not on it. Please do not search the memorial itself. You are looking for a pet barrel nano with only a paper log inside - please bring a pen/pencil and just add a date and initials.
