Geocache Description:

NOT AT ABOVE COORDINATES

I've always thought that transcribing music is an under-appreciated art. Consequently, I thought I'd share a transcription that I created, in a style that is also under-appreciated by most critics. This style has its roots in the late romantic period, starting as small vocal ensembles with heavy use of antiphony. Later composers added percussion to the form, and even later artists experimented with harmonies such as those in the following example:

Of course, any transcription is only an approximation of a piece of music, and I had to make certain tonal compromises to reproduce this piece on a piano. While this style of music may seem dissonant and unfamiliar, you may be surprised at how common it is. In fact, I can nearly guarantee that you've heard a similar piece in the past few days.
