Downham Loop 4 - Church Approach Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Kitty!!: I visited the series today with a view to replacing a couple of caches and moving a couple. However, I have decided to completely revamp the series for publication at an event early 2014. As the paths are so muddy at present there seems little point in moving caches only to archive them in a few months.

Thank you to everyone who has found the caches and for all the lovely feedback. I hope you will enjoy the revised trail next spring.

Geocache Description:

The fourth cache in the Ramsden Downham Loop. Please refer to GC2323F before starting

You are looking for a 35mm film pot.

The walk between cache 3 and 4 will be very muddy in winter. There were a few muddy areas at the time of setting but it was possible (just) to get around the edges.

From this cache you will pass Downham Church and have the opportunity to find GC1HX2T

You will need to walk a short way up the road on the grass verge (no need to cross the road). The road is very busy so dogs on leads and take particular care of little ones. At N 51° 37.818 E 000° 29.852 you will re-join the footpath.

From the church/top of the hill the views over Downham are stunning. Note the steep hill - fantastic for sledging in winter appart from the barbed wire at the bottom !!
