Geocache Description:

Xanthe was a nymph, A okeanis. The okeanis "yellow" or "yellow brown" was probably either a naias of a muddy flowing stream or the nephale of the yellow clouds of dawn and dusk.

In Greek mythology the Oceanids, or sea nymphs, were the beautiful daughters of Oceanus and Tethys. There were 3000 Oceanids mainly living in the waters, although some Oceanids inhabited the land. They were the lovers and wives of Greek gods, heroes and princes. The names of all of them are not known, the Greek poet Hesiod who wrote Theogony, a poem about the birth of Greek gods and goddesses, included some of them in that poem....
Xanthe was one of them. She was also one of the Amazons. The wife of Asclepius was sometime called Xanthe.

Xanthe real meaning is a greek word called inteligent.
Xanthe has 3 variant forms: Xantha, Xanthia and Zantha.
The girl's name Xanthe is pronounced ZAN-thah. It is of Greek origin, and its meaning is "yellow, blonde".
