Geocache Description:

A rocky rampart located in the Murrumbidgee River Corridor in the Bullen Range Nature Reserve. Enjoy excellent views up and down the Murrumbidgee! Please bring your own pen and check the spoiler information.

Thanks Capitan Tomato for the photos.

I was trying to think of a catchy name for this cache and my wonderful geospouse piped up, "What about Murrumbidgee Miser? I can't believe you are putting out a 35ml film canister in the bush!!!" Well, actually, neither can I frankly - but I didn't like the alternatives. I actually popped out here a couple of days ago to scope the location out, and I was going to hide an ammo box up at the back of a very deep cleft in the cliff below the current gz. Then I got to the top and saw two shiny belay bolts in the rock, and then I realized that this rock probably is often swarming with scouting muggles (from Camp Cottermouth) learning to abseil and climb. An ammo box would soon be found by those inquisitive eyes, plus the crevice looked like it might have been an entrance to an animal den further in. Another hole, another animal den. Mmmmm. This is lovely rock but nowhere that could resist swarming scouting muggles - so I have done the unthinkable - the thing to which I swore I would never stoop.

So check out the spoiler photo (not the one in the listing) - the micro cache is directly below my feet in the corner with a single hand-sized rock on top. Please stand the canister upright with that rock gently on top to keep the weather out.

I suggest you park at around about S35 19.535 E148 57.204 where it is about a 1km walk to the cache. Head past the gate, and after a bit, angle quickly down through open scrub to the river to pick up an old signposted track. Then it is a a lovely easy walk by the river to S35 20.084 E148 57.417 where you turn up to scramble up to the cache. For some extra fun, climb up and into the deep crevice where I was going to put the ammo box - extra bonus points for a photo of you in the crevice. Sign the log and then sit up top near the belay bolts and enjoy the views. If you go back along the top, please do not stray into the private property.
