Geocache Description:

Wellington boots, rubber-boots or wellies, were popularized by Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington. With an important military curriculum, in Portugal he commanded the troops that led to Napoleon’s defeat, during the Peninsular War of 1808-1812.

They were proposed by Wellington, to his London shoemaker, starting from the 18th-century Hessian boot, modified to fit more closely around the leg, trim removed and heels cut out. The new boots were fabricated in soft calfskin leather, resistant to use in the battles and comfortable for daily purpose.

The French Invasions are a well explored theme in geocaching, this cache tells you a little bit more about it. In classic black, with stripes, even with eyes or little flowers, everybody has used it.
