Geocache Description:

This cache is a 0.5 litre clip-lock box placed within 1km of the published co-ordinates. Sorry, the remoteness of this cache means that it is not accessible to wheelchair cachers.

This cache is based on the fact that the locations of the Greenwich Meridian, as shown on UK Ordnance Survey maps, and the WSG-84 Meridian, as reported by your GPSr, are not the same.

The cache is placed very near to the Greenwich Meridian N 51° 00.000 E 000° 00.000.
This is not at the WSG-84 Meridian co-ordinates, N 51° 00.000 E 000° 00.000, as shown on your GPSr.

Thankfully, for you guys, it is not far away from the published WGS-84 co-ordinates. And definitely not as far away as the bug in the Google Maps software thinks that it is. Click on the Google Maps link below to see what I mean.

To find the cache you will need to:
- go to the Greenwich Meridian N 51° 00.000 E 000° 00.000; and
- look for a 14-trunked tree, laying at 45 degrees, a little way to the NE of that location.

I suggest that a good starting / parking location would be here:
N 50° 59.961 E 000° 00.371.
