Geocache Description:

Info

I created this geocache for people to find in one of the greatest places I ever visited, During the first quarter of 2010 I visited the Belgian research station on Antartica.

After the first explorers Adrienne de Gerlache & A. Cook, 110 year later, Belgium returned to the southpole with the team of Alain Hubert.   It's the first zero emission research station on southpole, running on solar and wind power.

The station is located in an amazing area: Utsteinen Nunatak.

Utsteinen nunatak lies 60 km from the former Japanese Asuka station; 190 km S from Breid Bay, the edge of the ice shelf, 180 km S from the former Belgian Roi Baudouin base, and a few kilometres from the Sør Rondane range itself.

The cache is located nearby the Princess Elisabeth station.

If you stand in front of the main door, please proceed to the left columns.  There you will find a small black pelican box, which is hidden bellow some rocks.  (as there are not a lot of columns I leave you the challenge to search a bit for yourself)

Please enjoy the incredible sights and add some pictures on the site !
