Geocache Description:

Four Corners to the Forks Final is a puzzle cache found in downtown London near the Forks of the Thames. The given coordinates point to the dock that juts out into the Thames River, which is near the final GZ and cache site.

In order to determine where to go to find the cache, you must first find the four caches located at the four corners of London:

In each of these four caches, there are one or more letters printed in the front of the log book, which you must record. Unscramble the letters, which will spell out a number that you must use in the following calculation: Double the unscrambled number, then square the result, then add 1. This is the distance in metres that you must go from the given coordinates on the dock. Multiply the unscrambled number by 2.5 to give you the number of degrees of bearing from which you must project a waypoint. Remember to carefully enter the degrees and distance into your GPSr to give the correct projection...

[Alternative method to find the final cache location: Perform the following calculations to take you to a point from which you can see the cache GZ, and the cache container will be very obvious, but you won't be able to reach the cache from here!
North:Multiply the unscrambled number you found by the number of concrete pillars supporting the bridge that stand on islands in the Thames River north of the dock, and then multiply by the number of branches of the Thames that combine and flow west from this point. Then subtract two, reverse all the digits (e.g. 468 becomes 864), and then add the result to the north coordinates of the dock location.
West: Square the unscrambled number, then subtract three-quarters of the unscrambled number. Now, subtract this result from the west coordinates of the dock location.
When you get to this location look down towards the ducks and geese that swim on the river, and then closer and closer and closer to where you are standing, and suddenly you will see the cache container!]

It's that easy! Now, the hard part: the terrain, though downtown, is quite challenging, hence the level 4 rating. Exercise great caution during the spring thaw when the water levels are high. Please return the cache carefully to its hiding spot. Congratulations to allie-gator2006 for the FTF on this cache and on three of the four Corner caches!

This cache is published on January 15, a milestone day for me as I log my 1000th find this day, on my birthday! Enjoy!
